Where Classic Elegance Meets Modern Grace

Most buildings are built, very few are created.

The Gilchrist Mansion at 708 Market Street in historical downtown Wilmington truly is a creation. Once you walk through the majestic 11 feet front doors and see the marble hallway beside the grand staircase with the huge chandelier flanked by 11 feet custom made wrought iron doors, you instantly realize you have entered a different world, a world where classic European elegance meets modern grace.

The Queen Anne style Gilchrist Mansion is bringing a new living experience into existence. We have designed four luxurious, one-of-a-kind residences. These are, and will be, the only ones of their kind in the world!

All residences feature glorious high ceilings, and numerous grand fireplaces, high wrought iron doors, high-end appliances and each one will have its own private 200-bottle wine cellar with a celestial ceiling in the basement! All residences will have a private garage, a studio above the garage, and individual parking spaces within the secure iron-fenced premises.

Each residence or salon will be unique, but they share their uniqueness in different places and in different ways. One may have a mosaic Gilchrist crested shower floor, another may have a mosaic backsplash in the kitchen, one will feature a coffered ceiling of one kind, and the other will have a completely different coffered ceiling at a different place in the residence. Same with stained glass, hardwood custom inlaid floors, custom faucets, wainscoting, accent wallpapers, washed paints and even sections of walls painted, signed and dated by local artists, thereby creating a museum-like quality to each home.

The sizable Gilchrist estate property fronts on Market Street but also has a secure gated entry from 7th street. When in your car, you simply click to open the gate, drive in, park the car and enter the grounds after opening a locked walk-in gate. Once on the premises, you can either go in using the back entrance or walk through the courtyard and use the majestic front entrance that gives access to the two private elevators for the upstairs residences. The Gilchrist Mansion is protected with sprinkler and security systems; the walls and floors are constructed to withstand sound to secure privacy and a quiet living environment.

The residences range from almost 1,200 square feet to 1,900 square feet, excluding the garage and extra room above the garage. The two smaller residences occupy the first floor, the larger 2 story residences occupy the second and third floors.

All throughout the Gilchrist Mansion, it is evident that no costs were spared, that no details were left untouched, and that excellence was pursued everywhere to make sure that The Gilchrist experience will be one of wonder and wonderful.
